How To Install Our Products:

  1. The numbers obviously need to be facing the right direction. Don't laugh... I have seen many backward 4's believe it or not.
  2. Locate an area of the building or monument sign that is visible from both directions of travel, and where you think a driver would be looking if he/she were driving by. [Note: in some cases the numbers can be too high on the building requiring the rescue company to search with a spot light.  Check your local regulations and customs]
  3. Which brings me to the next point- If it can be illuminated this is best. [Again if your local adopted code modifications require it, do it.]
  4. Some have used RTV or silicone , or liquid nails to glue the numbers to their building.  Apply your choice of glue to the back, place number  where you have premarked your spot, and tape in place with masking tape or a non-marking tape. (Duct tape will probably leave a nasty mark.)
  5. Remove tape after 24 hours.
  6. Call your Fire Inspector with the good news!

If you were provided a stud installation kit you should install as decribed here?

1. POSITION TEMPLATE
Templates are 30¢ per inch of letter height, $3.60 maximum per letter. Templates are recommended for all stud mount letters. Position and level template on surface, securing with masking tape.
2. DRILL 1/4" DIAMETER HOLES IN TEMPLATE
Drill 1/4" diameter holes where indicated on template and into wall. Remove template from surface and clean out each hole with compressed air. Air vents on the drill or a turkey baster will work.

3. INSERT STUDS INTO LETTER
To prevent scratching, letters and studs are packed separately. Insert studs into the back of the first letter with silicone, spread silicone liberally on the studs of the first letter and push into place.

4. STANDOFF
Allow for a minimum of 1/8" between the back of the letter and the surface. Use a wood shim or match book to ensure that the standoff is the same for each letter. After the silicone has cured, remove the masking tape.
